Eric Bompard reinvents stock management and store performance monitoring thanks to Cegid Retail

The Eric Bompard brand, well-known for its collections of high-end cashmere, is getting a modern makeover. These changes are guided and supported by Cegid Retail Inventory Tracking and Cegid Retail Intelligence solutions.
This breath of fresh air is also coming from new omni-channel services, optimisation of stock management and in-store inventories and improved monitoring of all operations with easily accessible data delivered in real time. Cegid, a long-time partner and the leading partner of this brand specialising in knitwear, is helping to boost the company’s growth, explains Marc Pivot, Chief Information Officer
A breath of fresh air and support for growth
Eric Bompard was founded in the 1980s and now runs 65 stores, the majority located in France, with a dozen in neighbouring European countries. It also operates a sales website which now generates nearly 20% of its revenue. “The company wants to modernise its operations and to use a tool that offers the greatest possibilities for development in the future while supporting the growth of Eric Bompard,” says the CIO.
Streamlining the receipt of products and the management of returns
As Mark Pivot states, one of the top priorities was to be able to transfer certain operations away from the register, in particular the receipt of products and the management of returns. “In the past, we had practically only one computer per store,” he recalls. This constraint was based on the size of stores that are unable to accommodate multiple checkout counters, requiring teams to manage checkout and all other operations from a single register. “The ability to transfer these operations to a nearby PDA allows us to preserve the register space for checkout operations only,” explains Marc Pivot.
Better mobility thanks to Cegid Retail Inventory Tracking
The advantage of using a PDA is that it boosts mobility, as staff no longer need to be constantly moving products and can dedicate more time to helping customers. Another advantage is being able to carry out more regular inventory campaigns. Eric Bompard has decided to externalise its operations related to fiscal regulations, which it is required to carry out on a yearly basis. A costly service that presents constraints in terms of organisation.
Optimisation of inventories and stocks
“The advantage of Cegid Retail Inventory Tracking is that it allows us to perform partial inventories, or other inventories when there is a change in store management or if we observe major discrepancies in stocks, for example.” Staff can thus be much more responsive and efficient and provide reliable responses to customers looking for a specific item.
Reliable real-time reporting thanks to Cegid Retail Intelligence
For four years, Eric Bompard has also used the Cegid Retail Intelligence solution connected to Cegid Retail Y2 to produce monitoring reports and all reports that are distributed to senior management and shareholders. The demand for these dashboards is increasing significantly and must be met in order to adapt and maintain momentum. “Senior management and shareholders are also used to seeing well-designed dashboards, presented in a regular and reliable manner,” says Marc Pivot.
New processes for repairs
The company is also pursuing a major development with the launch of new services linked to CSR, for example this new product repair offer. The SAV module was connected to Y2 to manage and optimise a large part of this process “Cegid is our number one partner from an IT point of view. Our checkout system and therefore all our cash goes through Cegid. It’s the tool that allows us to ensure our revenue!,” says Marc Pivot.
Cegid thus supports the brand both in its modernisation and the transformation of its retail strategy, offering it more omni-channel services and improved efficiency.
