EuroCIS 2018: Technology Never Sleeps

When retail technology trade fair EuroCIS 2018 opens its doors on 27th February in Düsseldorf, attendees will be treated to an array of solutions for building brand loyalty and delivering a seamless omnichannel experience. The exhibition’s theme, “Technology Never Sleeps”, speaks volumes about the rapid pace of change that is revolutionising retail.

 

Taking place from 27 February to 1 March at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre in Germany, EuroCIS will feature approximately 450 retail technology exhibitors from 26 countries and is expected to draw some 11,000 international attendees. The digitisation of the store will be a major focal point at EuroCIS. “Only the most seamless IT infrastructure and consistently designed MIS and CRM systems lay the foundation for forward-looking [retail] services,” according to EuroCIS Magazine’s “EuroCIS: The Digital POS.” The article cites results of EHI’s IT Trends in Retail 2017 study, in which retailers ranked the following as top trends and priorities:

1. Projects for implementing omnichannel strategy
2. Digital store
3. Digital transformation

 

New this year is the EuroCIS START-UP HUB, a special exhibition area dedicated to retail IT solution newcomers. Among entrepreneurs taking part will be providers of electronic article surveillance (EAS), in-store mobile apps and a solution for virtual retail and real-time fashion.

 

EuroCIS will offer many real-world case studies and presentations as part of its educational forums. Two forums, the EuroCIS Forum and Omnichannel Forum, will run concurrently throughout the exhibition. Covering topics such as robotics, smart mirrors and shelves, digital assistants, RFID, machine learning, payment automation and beacons, these forums offer a packed agenda of 30-minute sessions.
