Description
Employee onboarding is yet another example of a key process that is often considered a HR responsibility, but it’s during that onboarding period that the foundation of the employee -employer relationship is created. So, it quite literally makes or breaks an employee’s decision to stay with or to leave the organization. Some stats show that it takes people less than six weeks to make up their minds about whether they are actually staying with the company.
As Gallup puts it in their view on creating an excellent onboarding journey, onboarding should be a journey that employees take with their manager and team. So perhaps it’s time for HR to reconsider some of its responsibilities and start setting some boundaries, for example, by making employee onboarding a shared responsibility.
