Could you use a dose of inspiring retail technology? The Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) is just around the corner 2-3rd May at Olympia London. What better way to boost your IT IQ and pick up something new to share with the team?
Cegid will be there on stand D140. Here are three reasons we hope you will be too!
Reason #1: The Latest Technology, Of Course!
Over 250 exhibitors will showcase their latest wares, including solutions for POS, payments, the customer experience, inventory management and more. Want to see the newest technology for omnichannel retailing, cashless payments, voice technology or artificial intelligence? Companies at RBTE will showcase it all. In fact, the event will mark the UK debut of “Shopping,” a new in-store omnichannel point-of-sale solution from Cegid. Available to store teams on both fixed and mobile devices, “Shopping” enables in-store associates to respond to an increasingly online, mobile and omnichannel customer journey. Schedule a personal demo or stop by the stand anytime.
Reason #2: The Networking
As Europe’s leading retail event, at least 18,500 retail professionals are expected to attend RBTE. It’s a chance to network in structured and unstructured settings with some of the industry’s most established retailers and newest names. To drop just a few, John Lewis, Macy’s, McDonald’s, Marks & Spencer, Molton Brown and Birchbox will be there. That’s not to mention futurists, trend spotters and experts on everything from banking to cloud computing — all focusing their lens on retail. To mix and mingle with retail’s best and brightest, don’t miss RBTE’s Innovation Trail & Awards party on opening day.
Reason #3: Three Theatres of Talks
The conference programme at RBTE 2018 will offer 50-plus seminars and panel discussions, organized into three themes: Retail Business, Retail Technology and Retail Payments. Just a few of the hot topics to be covered include:
– Managing omnichannel payments
– Leveraging mixed reality
– Enhancing the in-store and online experience
– Making the digital transformation journey
– Merging leisure and retail
…and here is a teaser about RBTE’s closing keynote. Ken Hughes, a leading consumer and shopping behaviouralist, will speak about “Positive Disruption: The Blue Dot Consumer.” He’ll discuss how Millennial and Gen Z consumers expect “PACE,” an acronym standing for:
– Personalisation (I Want It My Way);
– Authenticity (I Trust My Peer Network);
– Contextual Communication (Talk to Me Only with Relevant Benefit); and
– Shareable Experience (Something that Makes Me Look Good on Instagram).
In his blog post, “Tom Petty and the Blue Dot Consumer,” Hughes explained what he means by “blue dot consumer” in this way: “For this consumer, that blue dot that pops up when you open Google Maps IS their world. They are not ‘part of a big world learning to navigate their way through.’ No, they ARE the world, placed at the centre, everything is shown from their perspective. If they take one step right, they expect the world to take a step right with them. This changes the nature of retail, indeed of society and consumerism. The consumer is no longer at the END of a supply chain or distribution flow chart. They are at the centre.”
Does this shopper sound familiar? Have you seen a few blue dots in your stores lately? If so, some time well spent at RBTE might just inspire your next step to engage with them.
