Cegid releases a new version of its electronic document management (EDM) module

The launch of the new version of Cegid's electronic document management module is the culmination of Cegid's many years of experience in the field.

The innovative module can be fully integrated into ERP solutions without requiring interfacing or extensive configuration. Users can access ERP-managed financials and production workflows as well as the company's knowledge bank and history of customer and supplier communications directly from the company's IT system.

With its preset workflows and document templates, the solution is delivered ready to use. Setup wizards are widely used in the new version, automating the creation of scripts. These new wizards simplify and speed up the configuration process, while retaining all the features for customizing the solution.

The ribbon tabs provide an ergonomic interface to the new version which is fully compatible with Microsoft Office 2010. The module now also features a workflow editor that integrates with Microsoft Office's Visio Professional.

The module has a powerful search engine displaying results as a dynamic menu or filtering them via a multi-criteria search facility. All EDM files and data are saved in a fully-secure, web services-based storage system.

The administrator can create a profile for each user and assign rights to access some or all of the data. User rights can be configured according to document status, ensuring that documents are used and shared in an optimal manner. Thus, in accordance with quality standards, only approved documents are used in manufacturing and sales processes.

The EDM module has been designed to be used with Cegid's ERP solutions and is simple and easy to install and use. It will be available in June 2010.
