A new brand and a new version of Cegid's solution for manufacturing companies

In an effort to emphasize Cegid's sectoral specialization, we have have brought all of the Group's solutions together under a single banner: "Yourcegid". This will enable customers to constitute the unique "Yourcegid" solution that responds to the issues they face, and to call upon all of Cegid's expertise as dictated by their needs.

As part of this change, the Yourcegid Industry product range, dedicated to manufacturing companies, was announced at the users club meeting.

The new version of Manufacturing^CBM, (previously Cegid Business Manufacturing), Yourcegid Industry's flagship solution, will be available to small and mid-sized companies and groups thereof beginning in July 2010. Users will have access to numerous functional modules, such as accounting, payroll, cash management, production, human resources management and sales, as well as to functions specific to manufacturing companies and sophisticated planning functions.

This new version, developed to provide the best response to the needs of small and mid-sized manufacturing companies, will make users more efficient, saving them time and money.

Developed partly from suggestions submitted by users, Manufacturing^CBM has improved ergonomics, enabling users to migrate seamlessly from the previous version of the software. With the integration of Web Services technology, the user has access to the company's other applications. As a result, applications can speak to each other over the internet, independently of platforms and languages. For example, an order submitted to an e-commerce site will be visible and easily accessible from the user's interface.

Designed to adapt to the specificities of each country, the new version of the software offers numerous points of entry to the industry-specific functions. This flexibility enables users to personalize the interface by using the Cegid development tool.
 

The "production management" part has been greatly enhanced and will include, among other things:

• a production planning module that handles all manufacturing orders in graphical mode;
• a new configurator, tailored to the needs of the customer, for ease of implementation;
• a module for managing shop time that calculates employee time on the job as well as the time spent handling manufacturing orders;
• modules for recalculating minimum thresholds, managing scrap, valuing orders in progress and disassembly orders.

In addition, EDI will be available in the new version offered to the automotive industry and will manage the formats, standards and codes of this sector of the economy. Simply designed and easy to use, the software will automate commercial transactions in electronic form, from the order to the invoice. EDI is already available in Cegid's retailing industry solution. Cegid has been a member of Galia for several years.

Finally, the Supply Chain Management function has been enhanced. The new version now offers numerous additional functions. For example, SCM now:

• manages the competencies required in a production line in a more detailed manner;
• reports numerous types of information and makes additional analyses available;
• includes advanced configuration functions for control calculations.

In this way, users will be better able to control overall lead times by taking manufacturing time constraints into account.
 

At the same time that the new version of Manufacturing^CBM is released in July, new versions of our Manufacturing^PMI (previously Cegid PMI) and Manufacturing^PAC (previously Pack PMISOFT) will also be made available. Here are some of the enhancements we have brought to these new versions:

• Manufacturing^PMI will have new menu ergonomics, order preparation, automatic sub-contracting functions, notifications, CMMS and a CRM application for the iPhone;
• Manufacturing^PAC will have after-sales service management, a redesigned report generator, improved CRM, the SEPA interbank standard and an iPhone application.
